BIOGRAPHY:
Paneer came from the same village as Kannono Earhart, a village in which members of her kind and humans lived together peacefully. She and the Earharts were close friends, it was Mrs Earhart that taught Paneer how to cook; and it was Paneer that babysat Kannono when the Earharts were busy with their jobs as doctors.
Sometime when Kannono was still very young, the village was destroyed and from then on Paneer raised the girl almost single-handedly. Since then they have travelled together on Kannono's quest to find her parents. When Kannono joined the crew of Van Eltia, Paneer became the resident 'housewife', doing chores all over the ship.
Things changed after a venture into Niata Mona. Kannono discovered that Paneer had been lying to her all this while, that the parents she'd been searching for had perished on the very day their village had been destroyed.The voice that she'd been hearing all this while, the voice that she thought was her parents' was in fact the voice of the Niata.
The both of them reconciled eventually, but then fate threw another loop their way. Paneer's kind had an average lifespan of 20 or so years, there were four stages to their lives; childhood, adolescence, adulthood and the aging phase. At the age of eighteen Paneer was already way past her prime. Her hobby of avidly reading romance novels had helped hold of the rapid detioration that came with the last phase for very long, yet even that method was failing fast.
Kannono, hearing that 'romance' was one cure for the aging tried to find love for Paneer. Paneer thanked the girl but declined, saying that romance was something that could not be forced, that this was all up to destiny. At that time, saving the world was more important.
Everything worked out in the end. The world was saved, and after a period of very persistent wooing Paneer got married to the scientist Janis Cahn. They currently maintain a long distance relationship because of Janis' research in Granmania.

Kindly, wise and young at heart(I'm still a youthful eighteen!), Paneer's hobbies are reading romance novels (she can go through ten a month) and taking care of other people. Since she raised Kannono, Paneer thinks of the girl as her own daugther and cares and worries about her in much the same way. Not only that, everyone in Ad Libitum is very much a part of a big family to her, even ancient spirits like Celcius or the Granidean Descender or socially inept types like Kratos, Asch, Jade, Veigue, Leon... the list goes on and on. And in return, everyone at Van Eltia is fond of her too, worrying about her health when her aging was exposed (yes, even Asch), and unconciously gravitating towards the kitchen whenever they need advice or even a kind word or two. Paneer has compassion and empathy in spades, even understanding Goede's suffering and symphatizing with his predicament eventhough he was out to destroyed the world.
It would seem that she has quite the loving relationship with Janis Cahn despite the long-distance nature of it. Paneer describes everytime they meet as 'refreshing'. Romantic soul indeed.
